Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head outline
Draw the top and sides of a big round head, with a flat line across the top. Leave a gap at the bottom for now.
Step 3: Visor brim
Draw a wide curved line across the head like a smile for the visor brim. Add a small bump on the top edge for the visor's rim.
Step 4: Chin and body lines
Close the bottom of the head with a short curved chin line. Below it, draw a plus sign made of one line going down and one line going across, and add a short curve to the right.
Step 5: Top of raised arm
On the right side under the head, draw a short curved line. It is the top edge of the arm that will hold the racket.
Step 6: Other arm
On the left side under the head, draw a long curved line going down. Finish it with a little hook at the bottom for the hand.
Step 7: The racket
Draw an oval beside the head, then a straight handle going down from it. Add lines up and across inside the oval for the net, and a small circle on the handle for the hand.
Step 8: Shirt and skirt
Under the head, draw the sides of the shirt with a little V at the collar. Then draw a wider skirt below it with straight lines inside for the pleats.
Step 9: The shoes
Draw two flat ovals at the bottom of the skirt, side by side, so the player stands on them.
Step 10: The tennis ball
In the top left corner, draw a small circle. Add two curved lines inside to make the ball's stripes.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a tennis player
- Draw the head outline first and leave room for the visor brim across it.
- The racket is the trickiest part. Draw the oval first, then add lines up and across inside it so the net looks even.
- Make the skirt wider at the bottom than the top, and draw the pleat lines straight down so they look neat.
