Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The big round head
Draw a big circle for the head, a little wider than it is tall. Leave a small gap at the top where the cap button will go.
Step 3: Cap button and band
Draw a small round button in the gap at the top of the head. Then draw two long curved lines across the middle of the head, close together, to make the band of the cap.
Step 4: The shirt
Under the head, draw a tall box with straight sides that is a little narrower than the head. Close the bottom with a flat line.
Step 5: The arms
Draw a bent arm on each side of the shirt, starting at the shoulder and curving down. On the left arm, finish with a small circle for the hand.
Step 6: The baseball bat
Next to the right arm, draw a long bat that is thin at the handle and wide and rounded at the top. Put a small circle for the hand at the bottom of the handle.
Step 7: Legs and shoes
Draw two short straight lines down from the bottom of the shirt for legs. Add a wide flat oval at the end of each leg for a shoe.
Step 8: Face and buttons
Add two small dots for eyes and a happy curved smile below them. Then draw a small V at the neck and two round dots down the middle of the shirt for buttons.
Step 9: Shirt lines and belt
Draw two straight up-and-down lines on the shirt, one on each side of the buttons. Then draw a short straight line across the bottom of the shirt, joining the two lines, for the belt.
