How to draw a cheerleader step by step

How to Draw a Cheerleader · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Left side of head

Start near the top middle of your paper and draw a big curve that goes left, down the side, and back along the bottom, like a letter C. Leave the right side open for now.

  2. Step 2: The shirt and skirt

Under the chin, draw two straight lines going down for the sides of the shirt. Add a straight line across the bottom for the waistband, then flare out a wide skirt shaped like a trapezoid.

  3. Step 3: Arms up high

On each side, draw a curved line starting at the top corner of the shirt and stretching up and out. These are the arms.

  4. Step 4: Pom-poms

At the top of each arm, draw a big bumpy circle, then a smaller bumpy circle inside it for the fluffy pom-pom. On the left side, add a small circle where the arm meets the pom-pom for the hand.

  5. Step 5: Hair, bow and hand

Finish the right side of the head with a curve that comes down to the right arm. Draw a wavy line across the head for the bangs, add a ponytail loop at the top right with a small bow, and draw a small circle for the right hand.

  6. Step 6: Happy face

Put two dots for eyes in the middle of the face. Under them, draw a small curved smile like a little bowl.

  7. Step 7: Star, pleats and legs

Draw a small star in the middle of the shirt. Then draw three straight lines going down inside the skirt for pleats, and add two short legs under the skirt, each ending in a little flat foot line.

  8. Step 8: Shoes

Around the bottom of each leg, draw a wide oval for a shoe. Add a curved line across the top of each shoe.

  9. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a cheerleader

  • The pom-poms are the trickiest part. Draw a plain circle first, then bump the edge with little scallops, like a cloud.
  • Keep the arms thin and curved so they look like they are waving. Make both arms about the same length so she stays balanced.
  • Draw the skirt pleats as straight lines that start at the waistband and go down toward the hem. Spacing them evenly makes the skirt look neat.
