Step 1: Head and pigtails
Draw a big curved line for the top of the head near the top of the page, and let it curve down on both sides. Then add a long, rounded loop hanging down on each side for the pigtails, leaving the chin open for now.
Step 2: Bangs and hair ties
Draw a wavy, bumpy line across the top of the face for the bangs. Add a small rounded square on each side, where the pigtails meet the head, for the hair ties.
Step 3: Eyes and smile
Draw two small round dots for the eyes, in the middle of the face. Add a little curved smile under them.
Step 4: Neck and collar
Under the chin, draw a small wide U shape with a wavy bottom edge for the collar. Start and end it where the head lines stop.
Step 5: The dress
Start at each end of the collar and draw two lines slanting outward, like a triangle. Close the bottom with a gently curved line, then add a curved line across the top part of the dress for the belt.
Step 6: Both arms
Draw a long, bendy sausage shape sticking out from each side of the dress, with a rounded end for the hand. Let each arm curve down and bend back a little at the hand.
Step 7: Two legs
Under the dress, draw two short straight lines going down. Leave a gap between them.
Step 8: Shoes
At the bottom of each leg, draw a rounded shape like a little bump with a flat bottom. Make both shoes about the same size.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a girl
- Draw the top of the head first and make it big, because the pigtails and the body are sized from it.
- Make the two pigtails match by drawing one, then copying its height and width on the other side.
- For the bangs, make three or four round bumps in a row and let the ends touch the sides of the head.
