How to Draw a Knight (Easy Step by Step)
This little knight is built from very simple shapes: a round helmet with a plume, a pill-shaped visor, a body, a pointy shield and a tall sword. It is a fun one because the shield and sword make the knight look ready for an adventure, and the round dot eyes make it friendly instead of scary.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Helmet and plume
Draw a big rounded curve for the helmet: start near the top, curve down the left side, and sweep along the bottom to the right. Leave the right side open for now. Add a small curved plume on top, like a little leaf.
Step 3: The body
Start just under the right side of the helmet and draw a line curving down. Then sweep it left along the bottom with a gentle curve. Leave the left side open for now.
Step 4: The eye visor
In the middle of the helmet, draw a wide rounded shape like a pill lying on its side. This is the slot the knight looks through.
Step 5: The eyes
Fill the visor with two round, solid dots for eyes. Space them evenly so the knight looks friendly.
Step 6: Legs and feet
At the bottom of the body, draw two very short lines going down for legs. Add a flat oval at the end of each one for the feet.
Step 7: The shield
On the left, draw a shield: a slightly curved line across the top, two straight sides, and a point at the bottom. Draw a plus sign in the middle. Then add a short curved line from the top of the shield up to the body for the arm.
Step 8: The sword
On the right, draw a tall thin rectangle with a rounded top for the blade. Curve a line from the plume down the side of the helmet to meet the blade. Add a small circle below the blade for the handle, a short line below it, and a short arm line from the body to the circle.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a knight
- Draw the visor pill wide and flat before you add the eyes, so the two dots have room and sit side by side.
- For the shield, draw the two straight sides first, then connect them with curves that meet in a point at the bottom.
- Keep the sword blade thin and straight by drawing both sides slowly, then round off the top.

How to color your knight drawing
Try silver or gray for the helmet and body, red for the shield and its plus sign, and a shiny light blue for the sword. For a creative twist, give the plume a rainbow of colors.
Knight fun fact for kids
The word visor comes from an old French word for face, because a visor is the part of a helmet that covers the face.
