How to Draw a Princess (Easy Step by Step)
A princess is a fun drawing because she is made of friendly, simple shapes. Her face is a circle, her skirt is a big triangle, and her crown is a zigzag line. Once you know those shapes, you can give her your own hair and wand.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Chin and cheeks
Start at the left side of the guide circle and draw a curved U shape down around the chin and up the right side. Leave the top of the face open for the hair.
Step 3: Long hair and bangs
Draw a curved bangs line across the forehead with a little peak in the middle. Then draw long hair that rounds over the top of the head and hangs down both sides in two big loops.
Step 4: The crown
Draw a curved band across the top of the head. Add a zigzag on top with three pointy peaks, like a little mountain range.
Step 5: The big skirt
Start near the waist and draw two long slanted lines that spread out wide on both sides. Close the bottom with a gentle curve to make a big triangle skirt.
Step 6: Face, arms, and bow
Add two round dots for eyes and a small smile. Draw a curved neckline, then a puffy round sleeve on each shoulder with an arm hanging down. Add a short slanted wand stick on the right and a bow at the waist that looks like a sideways number 8.
Step 7: The star wand
At the top of the wand stick, draw a small five-pointed star.
Step 8: Skirt lines
Draw two straight lines down the front of the skirt, starting under the bow and slanting outward.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a princess
- Use the light guide circle to draw a round chin and cheeks. The hair and crown both sit on top of the face, so a good circle makes them easier.
- The crown zigzag is the trickiest part. Make three dots in a row for the peaks, then connect them with up and down lines.
- Draw the skirt wide. Start near the waist and let the lines spread out, then close the bottom with a gentle curve.

How to color your princess drawing
Try a pink or purple dress, golden yellow for the crown and star, and brown or black hair. For a twist, color the dress in rainbow stripes or add sparkles around the wand.
Princess fun fact for kids
The word crown comes from the Latin word corona, which means wreath or garland. Some of the earliest crowns were simple bands of leaves, long before gold ones with pointed tips.
