Step 1: The long handle
Draw two long, slanted lines that go up and to the right, side by side like a skinny stick. Close the bottom end with a round curve, like the end of a pencil.
Step 2: The star top
At the top of the handle, draw a big star with five points and soft, rounded corners. Let the bottom of the star sit on top of the handle.
Step 3: Stripes on the handle
Draw two short lines straight across the handle, near the middle. Keep them parallel so the handle looks like it has a fancy band.
Step 4: The big sparkle
On the left, draw a sparkle that looks like a four-pointed star. Start with a plus sign, then connect the tips with curves that bend inward.
Step 5: More small sparkles
Draw three more four-pointed sparkles: a small one at the top, one at the lower left, and one at the lower right. Make them different sizes so the magic feels busy.
Step 6: Magic dots
Add two tiny dots, one on the left of the wand and one on the right. Press your pencil down to make each one a small filled circle.
Step 7: Swirl and curve
At the bottom left, draw a little curly swirl that ends in a hook. Then add a gentle curve at the bottom right, like a smile of magic dust.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a magic wand
- Draw the two handle lines before the star, and keep them parallel. A ruler edge, or a second pencil laid next to your line, can help them stay straight.
- The star is the trickiest part. Make a light five-pointed star first, then round off each corner with your pencil so it looks soft.
- For the four-pointed sparkles, draw a small plus sign first. Then connect the four tips with curves that bend inward toward the center.
