How to draw a genie lamp step by step

How to Draw a Genie Lamp · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Bowl and spout top

Start with a wide bowl shape, like a big smile: draw a gently curved line across the top, then curve down on both sides to a rounded bottom. Then add a curved line that starts at the left end of the top line and sweeps up and out to the left, for the top of the spout.

  2. Step 2: The spout

Under the curved line you just drew, start at the tip of the spout and draw a second line that swoops down and across to meet the left side of the bowl. Now the spout looks like a curvy horn.

  3. Step 3: The lid

On top of the bowl, draw a half circle that sits on the top line, like a little hill. Its two ends should touch the bowl's top edge.

  4. Step 4: The round knob

Draw a small circle floating just above the middle of the lid. It is the handle you would grab to lift the lid.

  5. Step 5: The curly handle

On the right side, start at the top of the bowl and draw a big loop that swings out and back down to the bowl. Then curl the end of the line inward, like the end of a snail shell.

  6. Step 6: The foot

Under the bowl, draw two short lines that curve outward, like a skinny vase neck. Join them at the bottom with a flat line to make a wide base.

  7. Step 7: The magic smoke

Start at the tip of the spout and draw a wavy line that wiggles upward like a snake. End it with a spiral curl at the top.

  8. Step 8: Two little stars

Draw two small stars floating above the lamp, near the smoke. Make each one a tiny five-sided shape with a small dot in the middle.

  9. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a genie lamp

  • The spout is the trickiest part. Draw its top line first, then the bottom line, and let both curve the same way so the spout stays about the same width.
  • Make the bowl wide before you add the lid. A wide bowl gives the little half-circle lid room to sit on top.
  • For the smoke, think of drawing a lazy letter S that ends in a spiral. Go slowly and keep the line loose, because wobbly smoke looks right.

Genie lamp fun fact for kids
