How to Draw a Belt · tinyhandscreate.com
Step 1: Bear head and ears
Draw the top of a bear's head: two small round ears with a gentle dip between them. Then curve a line down each side to make a wide, rounded head, and stop before the bottom so it stays open.
Step 2: Belt band sides
On each side of the head, draw the curved top edge of the belt, then a tall curved side going down to a rounded bottom edge. Leave a gap in the middle of each side for the buckle.
Step 3: Buckle frame
In the gap in the middle of the belt, draw a big square with rounded corners. Its top should sit a little above the belt and its bottom a little below.
Step 4: Buckle and holes
Draw a smaller rounded square inside the big one, with an even gap all the way around. Add a little sideways U shape on its left side for the prong. Then draw two tiny dots on the belt to the left of the buckle for belt holes.
Step 5: Eyes and nose
Draw two round filled-in dots for eyes, with space between them. Add a small bean-shaped nose in the middle, a little lower.
Step 6: The strap end
On the right side of the buckle, draw a short, slightly curved line straight down across the belt, from the top edge to the bottom edge. This is where the end of the strap tucks in.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a belt
- Draw the head first and leave the bottom open. The belt will wrap around it, so the bear looks like it is tucked inside.
- The belt band is the trickiest part. Make the top and bottom edges curve the same way, like a smile, so the belt looks like it wraps around.
- For the buckle, draw the big square first and then a smaller one inside. Keep the gap about the same all around so it looks neat.
- Draw the two belt holes small and evenly spaced on the left of the buckle.

How to color your belt drawing
Try a brown bear with a dark brown leather belt and a shiny gold buckle. For a creative twist, make the belt rainbow striped or color the bear's cheeks pink.
Belt fun fact for kids
Belts have been around for thousands of years. Early belts were made of leather and used to hold clothes closed and carry tools, long before buckles looked like the ones we see today.
Questions about drawing a belt
What shapes do I need to draw a belt?
You need a curved band that wraps around like a ring, a big rounded square for the buckle, and a smaller rounded square inside it. Two tiny dots make the belt holes.
How do I make my belt look like it wraps around?
Draw the top and bottom edges as curves that bend the same way. Add a short line on the right of the buckle where the strap ends, and the belt will look round.
How do I make the bear look cuter?
Keep the eyes round and far apart, and make the nose small. Round ears and a wide head make the bear look extra sweet.
