How to draw a toilet step by step

How to Draw a Toilet · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: Tank and lid

On the left, draw a tall rectangle with rounded bottom corners for the tank. Then draw a long, flat rounded rectangle on top of it for the lid.

  3. Step 3: The bowl

Next to the tank, draw a wide curved line across the top for the rim. From each end, curve a line down and in, like a bowl, then finish with a short, wide base and a flat line along the bottom.

  4. Step 4: Seat and opening

Inside the rim, draw a small flat oval for the opening. Then draw a gentle curved line across the front of the bowl, from one side of the rim to the other, to show the seat.

  5. Step 5: The raised lid

Above the bowl, draw a tall oval that starts at the back of the rim. Draw a smaller oval inside it, leaving a little space all around.

  6. Step 6: The flush handle

On the front of the tank, draw a short straight line going left. At its right end, add a small circle.

  7. Step 7: The paper stand

On the right, draw one long straight line going down. Finish it with a short flat line across the bottom so it can stand up.

  8. Step 8: The paper roll

At the top of the stand, draw a circle for the toilet paper roll and a smaller circle in the middle. Let a short strip of paper hang down from the right side.

  9. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a toilet

  • Draw the bowl rim as a wide, flat curve first. The seat, opening, and lid all line up with it, so a good rim makes everything easier.
  • The bowl gets narrow near the bottom, so curve the sides in slowly and then go straight down for the base.
  • Draw the paper roll's two circles one inside the other, starting with the big one, so the roll looks round and centered on top of the stand.

How to color your toilet drawing

Try a classic white toilet with a light blue tank, or go bold with a bright green bowl. For a creative twist, color the toilet paper roll in rainbow stripes.

Toilet fun fact for kids

Many toilets in the United States use about 1.6 gallons of water or less for each flush, while some old toilets used 5 gallons or more.

Questions about drawing a toilet

What shapes do I need to draw a toilet?

You need a rectangle for the tank, ovals for the opening and the raised lid, and a curved bowl shape. The paper roll is just two circles.

How do I make my toilet drawing look more realistic?

Draw the raised lid as an oval with a smaller oval inside it, and curve the bowl so it gets narrower toward the bottom. Small details like the flush handle help a lot.

What is the hardest part of drawing a toilet?

Most kids find the bowl curves trickiest. Sketch a light circle to guide the bowl first, then draw the rim, the two curved sides, and the base.
