A record player is a fun one to draw because it is mostly ovals and rectangles. This one has a smiling face, so it looks like a friendly little music box. Floating music notes on top make it look like it is playing a song.

Step 1: The player box
Draw a big rectangle with rounded corners, wider than it is tall. This is the body of your record player.
Step 2: The front stripe
Draw one straight line across the box, a little above the bottom. It splits the box into a big top part and a small bottom strip.
Step 3: Record and arm
In the top part of the box, draw a wide, flat oval for the record. Then draw a short curved line from the right side of the oval, curling up toward the top right.
Step 4: Rings on the record
Draw a smaller oval inside the big one, then a tiny oval in the very middle. The rings are lined up like a target.
Step 5: The arm tip
At the top right of the box, draw a small circle where the curved line ends. This is the end of the needle arm.
Step 6: The first music note
Above the box, draw a small oval for the note's head. Draw a straight line going up from its right side, then a little curved flag at the top.
Step 7: The second music note
Draw another note to the right of the first one, a little higher up. Make it the same way: an oval, a tall line, and a curved flag.
Step 8: A happy face
In the bottom strip, draw two small dots for eyes. Put a little smile curve between them.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a record player
- Draw the big record as a wide, flat oval, not a circle. It looks flat because we see it from a bit above.
- Draw the rings from the outside in: big oval, medium oval, then the tiny one. Keep the same middle point for all three so they line up.
- For each music note, draw the oval first, then the tall line from its side, then the curved flag. The flag is easiest if you swoop your pencil down in one move.

How to color your record player drawing
Try a black record with a bright red middle, and a light blue box. For a creative twist, color each music note a different rainbow color, as if the song has its own colors.
Record player fun fact for kids
Records have one long spiral groove that goes round and round from the edge to the middle. The needle rides along the groove and turns the bumps in it into music.
Questions about drawing a record player
What shapes do I need to draw a record player?
You need a rounded rectangle for the box, three ovals for the record, and a small circle with a curved line for the arm. The music notes are ovals with lines and curved flags.
How do I make the record look flat and round?
Squash the circle into a wide oval. Draw the smaller ovals inside it with the same middle point, and they will look like rings on a real record.
How do I make my record player look cuter?
Add a smiley face on the front, with two round dots for eyes and a curved smile. You can also add more music notes floating above it.
