Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The head
Start with a big, round oval for the head, a little wider than it is tall. Leave a small gap at the bottom where the neck will be.
Step 3: The headband
Draw two curved lines across the top of the head, one above the other, so they look like a stripe wrapped around the forehead. Let both ends touch the sides of the head.
Step 4: Face and collar
Add two small dots for eyes, side by side in the middle of the head, and a little curved smile below them. Then draw a small U shape in the gap under the chin for the collar.
Step 5: Shirt and shorts
Under the head, draw a tall box that is a bit wider at the bottom, with a wavy line along the bottom edge. Add two tiny leg stubs hanging down from the bottom.
Step 6: Shorts band
Near the bottom of the body, draw one straight line across from side to side to show where the shorts start.
Step 7: Shoes
At the bottom of the two leg stubs, draw two wide, flat ovals side by side for the shoes.
Step 8: Arms
On the left side of the body, draw a short curved arm hanging down with a small circle at the end for a hand. On the right side, draw a long, skinny oval tilted up and away from the body for the other arm.
Step 9: Paddle and hand
Draw a small circle at the end of the raised arm for the hand. Then draw a big circle above it for the paddle and join the two with a short straight handle.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a table tennis player
- Draw the head oval first and keep it light, so you have room to fit the headband lines across it before you press harder.
- Make the hanging arm short and curved, with a small circle hand at the end. The raised arm is a long, skinny oval tilted up toward the paddle.
- Draw the paddle circle a bit bigger than the head's eye-to-eye width, then draw the handle so it ends at the small hand circle.
