How to Draw Lips (Easy Step by Step)
Lips are a friendly shape to draw because they are built from just a few wavy and curved lines. You start with two hills on top, a big smile curve below, and a wavy line in the middle. A little sparkle star and two dots next to the lips make them look shiny and fun.

How to Draw Lips · tinyhandscreate.com
Step 1: The top lip
Draw a wavy line like two little hills that meet in a small dip in the middle. Start at the left corner, go up and over the first hill, dip down, climb the second hill, and slope down to the right corner.
Step 2: The bottom lip
Start at the left corner and draw a big smiling curve, like the bottom of a bowl, all the way to the right corner. Make the ends meet the ends of the top lip.
Step 3: The mouth line
Draw a wavy line across the middle from corner to corner, with a small dip in the center just like the top lip. This is where the lips touch.
Step 4: The shiny curve
Add a short curved line inside the bottom lip, a little left of the middle. It looks like a tiny smile and makes the lip look shiny.
Step 5: The sparkle star
Up in the top right corner, draw a star with four points by making a plus sign and then curving the lines in between the points. It is like a diamond with soft, curvy sides.
Step 6: Sparkle dots
Next to the star, add one bigger dot and one smaller dot. Press your pencil down and make them nice and round.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing lips
- The dip in the top lip is the trickiest part. Draw a light dot in the middle first, then make each hill curve toward it.
- Make the middle mouth line match the shape of the top lip, with a small dip at the same spot, so both lips look lined up.
- Draw the bottom lip as one slow, smooth curve. If it wobbles, lightly sketch a big oval first and trace along its bottom.

Try pink, red, or coral for the lips and a bright yellow for the sparkle star. For a twist, color each lip a different shade, or fill them with rainbow stripes.
Lips fun fact for kids
Everyone's lips have their own pattern of tiny lines, a bit like a fingerprint. No two people have exactly the same lip print.
Questions about drawing lips
What shapes do I need to draw lips?
You need two hills for the top lip, one big bowl-shaped curve for the bottom lip, and a wavy line between them. The sparkle is a four-point star and two dots.
How do I make my lips drawing look shiny?
Add a short curved line inside the bottom lip, plus the sparkle star and dots nearby. Leave a small spot uncolored when you color it in, and it will look like a bright shine.
Why do my lips look uneven?
The two sides may not match. Start with a small dot in the center, then draw the left side and the right side so each one mirrors the other.
