Step 1: Bed and back box
Draw a long rectangle with rounded corners for the flat bed at the bottom. Then draw a tall box with a slightly slanted left side sitting on the left end of the bed.
Step 2: The cab
Next to the back box, draw the cab. Start at the top of the box, go up and across, then slope down into a short nose at the front, and end on the bed.
Step 3: Cab window
Inside the cab, draw a small window shaped like a rectangle with one slanted side.
Step 4: Wheels
Under the bed, draw two wheels, one near each end. For each wheel, draw a small circle for the hub, then a curved line on each side of it that tucks up under the bed.
Step 5: The plow blade
At the front of the truck, draw a tall, curved blade like a long skinny banana. Add a small square where it joins the bed, and a tiny curved dash off to the right.
Step 6: Ground and snow pile
Draw a flat ground line under the wheels, running from the left side to the right. Beside the blade, draw a puffy snow pile with a bumpy edge that starts at the blade, bumps up and around, and comes back down to the ground line.
Step 7: Light and stripes
On top of the cab, draw a tiny loop for the warning light. Then draw two tall straight lines on the back box.
Step 8: Snow detail
Add one little curved line near the top of the snow pile to show a fluffy bump.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a snowplow
- Draw the long bed first so the back box, cab and wheels all have a place to sit.
- The plow blade is the trickiest part. Draw it as a tall, skinny curve like a banana, leaning a little toward the truck.
- Make the snow pile bumpy by drawing three or four round scallops, like a cloud, instead of one smooth line.

How to color your snowplow drawing
Try a bright yellow or orange truck with a gray blade and dark gray wheels. Color the snow pile with light blue shadows to make it look cold and fluffy.
Snowplow fun fact for kids
Many snowplow trucks have a blade that can tilt and swing, so the driver can push snow to the side of the road instead of straight ahead.
Questions about drawing a snowplow
What shapes do I need to draw a snowplow?
You need rectangles for the bed, back box and window, a rounded shape for the cab, two wheels, and a long curved shape for the blade. The snow pile is just a few bumpy scallops.
How do I make the plow blade look curved?
Draw a tall, narrow shape that bends like a banana. Start at the top, curve down and out, and finish near the ground.
How do I make my snowplow look like it is sitting on the ground?
Draw a flat ground line under the wheels that runs all the way to the snow pile. The wheels then look like they rest on it.
