Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Pumpkin sides and bottom
Draw the bottom of a wide, round pumpkin, curving up on both sides. Add a second curved line just outside each side, and leave the top open for now.
Step 3: Pumpkin ridges
Draw two long curved lines inside the pumpkin, one on each side of the middle. Start each near the top and bend it outward as it goes down to the bottom edge.
Step 4: Top and stem
Draw a curved line across the top of the pumpkin to close it. Near the middle, let the line bend up into a short, bumpy stem.
Step 5: Middle feather outline
Above the stem, draw a tall curved arch like an upside-down U. This is the outline of the middle tail feather.
Step 6: Upper feathers
Draw a tall oval feather on each side of the middle one, leaning outward, and put a short slanted line inside each. Then draw a straight line down the middle of the center feather.
Step 7: Side feathers
Add a wide leaf-shaped feather on each side that points out and up. Draw a slanted line inside each one, and a short line under it where it meets the pumpkin.
Step 8: Wing feathers
Add a wide oval sticking out sideways on each side of the pumpkin. Draw a short line inside each one.
Step 9: Eyes and beak
Draw two small round dots for eyes, side by side at the same height. Below and between them, draw a small triangle with the point at the bottom for the beak.
Step 10: The wattle
Under the beak, draw a small, thin teardrop loop that hangs down. This is the turkey's wattle.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.
