Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a big wide oval near the top of your paper. This is the kid's round face.
Step 3: Bottom of the body
Leave a gap under the head, then draw a curved line like a smile that bows downward. This is the bottom half of the round body.
Step 4: The middle feather
Draw a tall, skinny oval standing on top of the head, with its bottom touching the head. Add lines down the inside of it.
Step 5: Two upper feathers
Draw two more long ovals, one leaning left and one leaning right, starting at the top of the head next to the middle feather. Add a line inside each one.
Step 6: Side feathers and face
Add two feathers on each side of the head, pointing outward like a fan, with the bottom pair almost flat. Then draw a dot on the forehead, two small dot eyes and a little smile. Finish the right side of the body with a curved line from the head down to the bottom curve.
Step 7: Arms
Draw a small tilted oval on each side of the body for the arms. On the left, add a curved line from under the head down to the arm to close the body.
Step 8: Feet
Draw two short lines hanging down from the bottom of the body. Finish each with a flat oval for a foot.
Step 9: Beak and tummy smile
Draw a small upside-down triangle on the forehead with a little loop below it for the beak. Then add a curved smile line across the tummy.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

- Draw the feathers from the middle outward, so the fan stays even on both sides.
- Let the feathers start at the head. Stop your feather lines where they touch the head outline.
- Make the beak a small upside-down triangle with a loop under it. If it looks wobbly, try it lightly in pencil first.

Questions about drawing a kid in a turkey costume
What shapes do I need to draw a kid in a turkey costume?
You need ovals for the head, feathers, arms and feet, a circle for the body, and a small triangle with a loop for the beak. A few curved lines make the smiles.
How do I make my turkey costume kid look cuter?
Draw the head extra big and round, and keep the eyes small and wide apart. A big smile makes the whole drawing friendlier.
How do I draw the feathers evenly?
Start with the middle feather, then add one leaning to each side, then the side feathers. Matching the angles on both sides keeps the fan balanced.
