How to Draw a Soccer Player (Easy Step by Step)
A soccer player is a friendly drawing built from simple shapes: a big round head, a shirt with a number 7, two little looped arms, a pair of shoes and a ball. The number 7 and the wavy hair give this player lots of personality. It is a good first character to draw because almost every part is a circle, an oval or a straight line.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a big, wide rounded shape for the head, like a soft square with a flat top and a curved chin. Leave the inside empty.
Step 3: The hair
Across the upper part of the head, draw a wavy line from one side to the other, like gentle ocean waves. This marks where the hair ends and the forehead begins.
Step 4: Face and chin
Add two small dots for eyes and a little curved smile in the middle of the face. Then draw a tiny U shape just under the chin for the neck.
Step 5: The shirt and number
Under the head, draw two lines slanting down for the sides of the shirt. Add a line across the bottom, then draw a big number 7 in the middle.
Step 6: Arms, hands and ball center
On each side of the shirt, draw a long bendy loop for an arm and add a small circle at the end for a hand. Near the right hand, draw a small five-sided shape with short lines poking out from its corners.
Step 7: The shorts
Below the shirt, draw a wavy line with a little bump in the middle for the bottom edge of the shorts. Fill in the small dark patch between the legs.
Step 8: The shoes
At the bottom, draw two flat ovals side by side for the shoes. Add a small bump on top of each one where the foot meets the leg.
Step 9: The soccer ball
Next to the right shoe, draw a big circle around the five-sided shape so it becomes a ball. Start at the top and curve all the way around until the ends meet.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a soccer player
- Start the head as a light, wide shape, because the big head is what makes this player look cute.
- Draw the number 7 inside the shirt outline. Start with the flat top line, then slant the long stroke down to the left.
- For the ball, draw the small five-sided shape first with its short lines, then draw the big circle around it last.
