Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head and ears
Draw a wide, rounded head with two little pointy ears on top and a dip in between. Let the cheeks bulge out a bit on each side, and add a short line going down on the left for the start of the body.
Step 3: Back and cheek marks
On the right side, draw a long curved line that starts at the cheek and sweeps down for the kitten's round back. Add a tiny short line on the cheek beside it.
Step 4: The tall tail
Next to the kitten's back, draw a tall, skinny loop that curves up like a long stretched oval. Start and end it where it touches the back.
Step 5: Eyes, smile and whiskers
Draw two round dots for eyes with a tiny wavy smile between them. Then add two short whisker lines sticking out from the left cheek.
Step 6: Little paws
At the bottom of the kitten, draw two small bumpy shapes for the paws, side by side. Make them short and squiggly so they look like they are gripping the ball.
Step 7: The ball outline
Below the paws, draw a curved line down the left side and another down the right side. Then add a short curved line along the bottom to finish the round ball.
Step 8: The dark patches
Draw one rounded patch in the middle of the ball. Then add a patch near each of the four corners, two at the top and two at the bottom, and color them in dark.
Step 9: Ball seams
Draw short straight lines to join the middle patch to the patches around it, like the spokes of a wheel. Add a few short lines around the edge, and your soccer ball is done.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kitten on a soccer ball
- Draw the head first and keep it wide and round, because the rest of the kitten is built under it.
- The tail is a tall, skinny loop, like a long stretched oval that is open where it meets the back.
- Keep the eyes far apart and the smile tiny so the kitten looks extra cute.
- Leave the top of the ball hidden behind the kitten's paws, so the kitten looks like it is sitting on the ball.
