How to Draw a Rock Star (Easy Step by Step)
A rock star with star-shaped sunglasses and spiky hair is a fun way to practice circles, triangles, and stars. The head is one big round shape, the hair is a row of triangles, and the guitar is a circle with a long skinny strip. Once the shapes are in place, the music notes make the whole page feel like a concert.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head with ears
Draw a big round shape for the head, a little wider than it is tall. Add a tiny pointed bump on each side, near the top, for the ears.
Step 3: Spiky hair
Along the top of the head, draw a row of pointy triangles like a crown. Make the one in the middle the tallest and the side ones a little smaller.
Step 4: Star sunglasses
Draw a wavy line straight across the face. Then add two big stars hanging under it, one on each side, with the points of each star touching the line.
Step 5: Body and shoes
Under the chin on the left, draw a curved line going down for the side of the body. Near the bottom, draw two flat ovals side by side for the big shoes.
Step 6: The guitar body
On the left, next to the shoes, draw a rounded circle shape for the guitar. Add a curved line at its top right to start the middle of the guitar.
Step 7: The guitar neck
Draw two long lines slanting up to the right from the guitar to make a skinny strip. Finish the top with a small bent shape for the tuning end.
Step 8: Face, arm and legs
Draw a tiny dot in the middle of each star and a happy curved smile below. Then draw a bent arm with a small round hand on the guitar neck, and two short legs down to the shoes.
Step 9: Lightning bolt
On the shirt, draw a small zigzag lightning bolt. It goes in, out, and in again, like a tiny letter Z.
Step 10: Music notes
Float three music notes around the rock star. For each one, draw a small oval, add a stick going up, and finish with a little flag at the top.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a rock star
- Draw the star sunglasses after the hair, with the wavy line across the face first. Then add a star under each side of the line.
- Make the hair triangles different sizes, with the tallest in the middle. If they all match, the hair looks flat.
- Draw the guitar neck as two long lines that run side by side. Use the side of your hand as a guide to keep them straight.

How to color your rock star drawing
Try bright red or purple for the hair and yellow for the stars on the sunglasses, with a shiny orange guitar. Give each music note its own color so the song looks like a rainbow.
Rock star fun fact for kids
Most electric guitars have six strings, and the thickest string plays the lowest note. The thinnest string plays the highest note.
