Step 1: The tall cone
Start at the bottom left and draw a long curved line up to a point. Let the tip bend over to the right like a floppy hook, then come back down the right side with a gently wavy line.
Step 2: The wide brim
Draw a wide, bumpy oval shape at the bottom of the cone, starting at the left bottom of the cone and ending at the right bottom. Leave the top open where it meets the cone, and give the bottom edge a few soft bumps so it looks wavy.
Step 3: The hat band
Draw three curved lines across the bottom of the cone, each one bending down a little in the middle. The top and middle lines make a wide ribbon, and the bottom line closes it off just above the brim.
Step 4: The buckle
In the middle of the ribbon, draw a small square with rounded corners. Put a little dot in the center.
Step 5: The moon's outer curve
On the upper part of the cone, draw a curved line shaped like a letter C, opening toward the right. This is the outside edge of the moon.
Step 6: Stars and moon curve
Draw a second curve inside the C so the moon becomes a fat crescent. Then draw three small stars on the cone, one near the tip and two on the left, each with a tiny shape inside.
Step 7: The sparkles
Next to the hat, one on each side, draw two little diamond sparkles. Make each one a small diamond with a tiny diamond inside.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a wizard hat
- Draw the cone first and lightly, so you can fix the bendy tip. Let it curl over gently instead of making a sharp hook.
- Make the three band lines curve the same way, bending down in the middle, so the ribbon looks like it wraps around the hat.
- Draw the stars as small rounded five-sided shapes with a tiny shape inside. Keep them small so they fit on the cone around the moon.

Wizard hat fun fact for kids
