How to Draw a Cucumber (Easy Step by Step)
A cucumber is a friendly first subject because it is mostly one long, rounded shape with a few easy details. You will draw a big sausage shape, a tiny stem, a smiling face, little skin bumps, and three round slices with seeds. The slices make it feel like a whole snack plate.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Cucumber body
Draw a long, fat sausage shape that tilts up a little on the right. Make both ends nice and round, like a big jelly bean.
Step 3: Tiny stem
On the left end of the body, draw a tiny curved hook, like a small letter C. It touches the body and sticks out a little.
Step 4: Dot eyes and smile
Draw two small dots for eyes in the middle of the cucumber. Then add a little curved smile between them, a bit lower.
Step 5: Skin bumps
Scatter small curved marks, like tiny upside-down smiles, over the cucumber. Tilt them in different directions and keep them away from the face.
Step 6: First slice rings
Below the cucumber, on the left, draw a circle. Then draw a smaller circle inside it, leaving a gap all the way around.
Step 7: First slice seeds
Inside the smaller circle, add five little seed dots in a ring, like the points of a star.
Step 8: Middle slice
Next to the first slice, draw a second slice the same way. Make a circle with a smaller circle inside, then add five little seed dots in the middle.
Step 9: Last slice
Next to the second slice, draw the third slice. Make a circle with a smaller circle inside, then add five seed dots in the middle to match the others.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a cucumber
- Draw the body as a light oval first, then stretch the ends so it looks like a long bean before you make the final line.
- For the slices, draw the big circle first and the smaller one inside it, keeping the gap the same width all the way around.
- Make the little skin bumps small curves that all look a bit different. Keep them away from the face so it stays easy to see.

How to color your cucumber drawing
Color the skin in two greens, darker on the body and lighter on the slices, and use pale yellow-green inside the seed circles. For a creative twist, color the stem a different shade of green.
Cucumber fun fact for kids
Cucumbers are about 95 percent water, which is why a cold slice feels so fresh and crunchy.
