How to Draw a Cauliflower (Easy Step by Step)
A cauliflower is a great first vegetable to draw because the head is just one big bumpy cloud shape. You will draw the cloud, then add two long pointed leaves and two small leaves at the bottom. It is a fun way to practice bumpy lines and matching shapes on both sides.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Bumpy cloud head
Draw a big cloud shape near the top of your page. Make lots of small round bumps all the way around, like a puffy cloud.
Step 3: Left outer leaf
Start at the lower left of the head and draw a curved line out and up to a pointed tip. From the tip, draw a long curve sweeping down and across to the bottom middle.
Step 4: Right outer leaf
Do the same on the right side. Start at the lower right of the head, curve out and up to a point, then sweep a long curve down to the bottom middle so both leaves match.
Step 5: Big leaf stripes
Inside each big leaf, draw one straight slanted line. Start near the pointed tip and draw down toward the bottom middle.
Step 6: Left small leaf
Between the two big leaves, draw a small leaf with a rounded top, just left of the center. Curve down both sides until it reaches the bottom.
Step 7: Right small leaf
Draw another small leaf with a rounded top just right of the center, next to the left one. Curve down both sides so the two small leaves almost touch at the bottom.
Step 8: Small leaf stripes
Draw one short slanted line inside each small leaf. Start near the top of the leaf and draw down toward the bottom middle.
Step 9: Bottom leaf tips
At the bottom of the small leaves, add a few short, curved marks where the leaves meet. Add one tiny dash in the middle between them.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a cauliflower
- Draw the bumps on the head one at a time, like a row of small clouds. Try to keep them about the same size.
- Draw the left big leaf first, then the right one, so it is easy to check that both sides look alike.
- Draw the small leaves in the middle slowly and lightly. They are the tightest spot, so go carefully where the lines meet at the bottom.

Questions about drawing a cauliflower
What shapes do I need to draw a cauliflower?
You need a big bumpy cloud for the head, two long pointed leaves on the sides, and two small rounded leaves in the middle. The bumpy edge is just lots of small curved humps.
How do I make the cauliflower head look bumpy?
Draw small curved humps one after another all the way around the head. Let each one meet the next so the edge looks like a cloud.
How do I make both big leaves match?
Draw one leaf, then the other, and compare their height and tips as you go. If one is a bit different, that is fine, because real leaves are never exactly alike.
