How to Draw a Valentine Cupcake (Easy Step by Step)
A Valentine cupcake is a sweet one to draw because it is mostly stacked rounded shapes with a heart on top. You will use a cup shape, two long rounded rectangles, a dome, a heart on a stick and a few tiny hearts. Each part is simple, and together they make a treat that looks good enough to eat.

Step 1: The cupcake cup
Draw a cup shape that is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. Make two slanted side lines, then join them at the bottom with a gently curved line. Leave the top open.
Step 2: The bottom frosting
Draw a long, wide rounded rectangle, like a stretched-out sausage, across the open top of the cup. Make it a little wider than the cup so it hangs over the edges.
Step 3: The middle frosting
On top of the first layer, draw the top and sides of a slightly smaller rounded rectangle. Start and end on the top line of the layer below, so the layer below makes its bottom edge.
Step 4: The frosting dome
Draw a curved arch, like a little hill, sitting on top of the middle layer. Start and end the curve on the top edge of the layer below.
Step 5: Cup stripes
Draw straight lines from the bottom of the frosting down to the bottom of the cup. Start with the middle line, then add two more on each side so the stripes are spaced evenly.
Step 6: The heart topper
Draw a heart floating above the dome. Make two bumps at the top that meet in a point at the bottom.
Step 7: The heart stick
Draw a short straight line from the point of the heart down to the top of the frosting dome. It holds the heart up like a cupcake pick.
Step 8: Little frosting hearts
Draw a tiny heart near each end of the middle layer, then a tiny heart near each end of the bottom layer. Try to keep each pair at the same height.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Valentine cupcake
- The heart on top can be tricky. Draw two small bumps first, then bring both sides down to meet in a point at the bottom.
- Draw the middle stripe on the cup first. Then add two stripes on each side so the spacing stays even and the lines do not get squished.
- Draw the two frosting layers as long, wide pill shapes. Make the bottom one a little wider so the cupcake looks stacked.
