How to Draw a Christmas Puppy (Easy Step by Step)

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Head and antler stems
Draw a round head, a little wider than it is tall, but leave a gap at the top. From each side of the gap, draw a long, slightly bendy line going up, like two sticks.
Step 3: The round body
Under the head, draw a big egg shape for the body, wider at the bottom. Start each side just below the chin, curve down and around, and make two little bumps along the bottom for the feet.
Step 4: Floppy ears
Draw a long, rounded loop on each side of the head for the floppy ears. Start each ear near the top side of the head, curve it out and down, and bring it back to touch the head.
Step 5: Legs and tail
Draw a short straight line up from the bottom middle of the body to split the two front legs. Then draw a small curved tail with a pointed tip on the right side of the body.
Step 6: Face
Draw two round dots for the eyes. Add a bigger round dot for the nose between them and a little curvy mouth under it, with a small tongue hanging down.
Step 7: Headband
Draw a gently curved line across the forehead, from one side of the head to the other. Then add a shorter curved line above it, near the top of the head, between the two sticks.
Step 8: Antler branches and knot
On each stick at the top, draw a small curved branch that bends outward to make the antler. Then draw a small square-ish dot in the middle of the chest for the bow tie knot.
Step 9: Bow tie loops
Draw a rounded loop on each side of the knot, like a sideways figure eight. Each loop starts and ends at the knot.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Christmas puppy
- Draw the head as a light round shape first. Then the headband and the ears have a clear place to sit.
- The antlers are drawn in two parts: first the long sticks on top of the head, and later the small branches. Keep both sides about the same height.
- Make the two bow tie loops about the same size. Start with the little knot in the middle and draw each loop out from it.
