Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The round head
Draw a big circle for the head. Leave a small gap at the very top, where the horn will go later, and keep the circle nice and round.
Step 3: The body
Under the head, draw two curved lines that start at the bottom of the circle and swing out and down, like the sides of a little round tummy. Leave the bottom open for the feet.
Step 4: Pointy ears
Draw two leaf shapes on top of the head, one on each side. Start each at the head, curve up to a soft point, and come back down to the head.
Step 5: Horn and fringe
Draw a tall thin triangle with a rounded tip in the middle of the top of the head, and add a little stripe across it. Then draw a wavy, bumpy fringe under the horn that joins the head on each side.
Step 6: Side puffs
On each side of the head, draw two small round loops, one above the other, like little hair buns. Each loop starts and ends on the head circle.
Step 7: Face and cheek heart
Draw two small dots for eyes and a little curved smile between them. Then draw a tiny heart on one cheek, near the smile.
Step 8: Arms
On each side of the tummy, draw a rounded arm that starts at the body and curves down toward the middle, as if the unicorn is getting ready to hug something.
Step 9: The big heart
In the middle of the tummy, between the arms, draw a heart with two bumps on top and a point at the bottom.
Step 10: Feet
At the bottom, draw two wide ovals side by side for the feet. Join them with a short curved line.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Valentine unicorn
- Draw the head circle first and keep it big. Everything else is smaller and fits around it, so a big head leaves room for the ears and puffs.
- The heart is the trickiest part. Draw two small bumps side by side first, then bring the lines down to a point in the middle.
- Draw the side puffs as small loops that start and end on the head line. Do the top one first, then add the one below it so they match.

Valentine unicorn fun fact for kids
The narwhal is a real whale with a long spiral tusk that looks a lot like a unicorn horn. The tusk is actually a very long tooth, and people long ago sold narwhal tusks as unicorn horns.
