Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Left side of the heart
Start at the dip in the top middle. Curve up and over to make the left bump, then sweep down the side and finish in a point at the bottom.
Step 3: Right side of the heart
Start at the same dip and curve up and over to make the right bump. Then bring the line down the right side until it meets the bottom point.
Step 4: The arrow shaft
Draw a short straight slanted line that starts at the upper right edge of the heart and goes up and to the right.
Step 5: The feathers
At the top end of the shaft, draw three short curved lines that fan out, like the feathers on a bird's tail. Make them bend the same way.
Step 6: The other end of the arrow
Near the bottom left of the heart, draw a short line sticking out. At the end of it, draw a small heart shape for the arrow point.
Step 7: Tiny heart at top left
In the empty space at the top left, draw a small heart outline.
Step 8: Tiny heart at bottom right
Draw one more small heart outline in the bottom right corner, just like the first one, to balance the page.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a heart with an arrow
- Draw the heart's top dip first, then do each side from that spot so both bumps come out about the same size.
- Make the arrow shaft one short, straight line. Use a ruler or the edge of a book if wobbly lines bother you.
- Draw the three feathers curving the same direction so they look like one fan, and keep them short.
