  1. Step 1: Top leaves

At the top of the page, draw two pointy ovals like leaves, one leaning left and one leaning right. Leave a little gap between them in the middle for a berry later.

  2. Step 2: Upper side leaves

Below each top leaf, draw another leaf-shaped oval on the left and right. Tuck the pointy tips so they touch the leaves above.

  3. Step 3: Side leaves

Draw a tall, narrow leaf on the far left and another on the far right. They are like two lemons standing on their ends, and they make the wreath wide.

  4. Step 4: Lower leaves

Under the side leaves, draw one more slanted leaf on each side. Curve them so the ring starts to close at the bottom.

  5. Step 5: Berries and leaf lines

Draw small circles in the gaps between the leaves, one at the top and a few around the sides. Add a bigger circle at the bottom center, then two small leaves next to it. Finish each big leaf with a short line down the middle.

  6. Step 6: Bow loops

Under the big bottom circle, draw two loops that look like rounded teardrops, one going left and one going right. Start each loop at the circle and curve it out and back.

  7. Step 7: Ribbon tails

From the center circle, draw two long ribbon tails hanging down, slanting a little apart. Give each end a small V notch, like a swallow's tail.

  8. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Christmas wreath

  • Draw the top two leaves first, then work down each side. This keeps the ring even and stops it from drifting off the page.
  • The bottom of the wreath is the trickiest part, so leave room there. Draw the berries and the big center circle before the bow loops so the bow has a place to attach.
  • If your leaves look different from each other, that is fine. Wreaths look best when the leaves are a little wobbly and handmade.
