How to Draw an Angel (Easy Step by Step)
An angel is a friendly drawing made almost entirely of circles and curves. You build it from a round head, a floating halo, a simple face with hair, two big wings and a triangle dress. It is a nice one to draw for the holidays or as a card for someone you love.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a big round curve for the face. Start at the bottom left, go up and over the top, and stop at the bottom right, leaving a little gap at the bottom where the chin will go.
Step 3: The halo
Float a flat oval above the head, like a thin ring. It should not touch the head.
Step 4: Hair, face and chest
Draw two curved lines from the top middle of the head sweeping down to each side for the hair. Add two dot eyes and a small smile, then draw a short neck line down from the chin that ends in a little ring on the chest.
Step 5: The wings
On each side of the body, draw a big rounded wing that starts near the neck, loops out wide and sweeps back in toward the middle at the bottom. Add a small curved line inside each wing near the bottom.
Step 6: The dress
Draw two straight lines sloping out from the neck and shoulders like a triangle, then close the bottom with a gently curved line.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing an angel
- Draw the halo as a flat oval, not a full circle, so it looks like it is floating above the head.
- Make both wings about the same size by starting them at the same height on each side of the neck.
- Draw the dress with two straight sloping sides first, then curve the bottom edge just a little.

Angel fun fact for kids
In many old paintings, artists showed a halo as a gold ring or disk around the head of a holy person. Long before that, ancient Greek and Roman artists also painted glowing rings around gods and heroes.
