How to Draw an Advent Wreath (Easy Step by Step)
An advent wreath is a ring of greenery with four candles, and it makes a cozy holiday drawing. It is built from simple shapes: tall candle sticks, teardrop flames, a wavy ring, a flat oval, and a bow made from two loops. Once you can draw those, you can draw the whole wreath.

Step 1: Four candle sticks
Draw four tall, skinny shapes standing side by side, like long U shapes with open tops. Make the two middle ones a little taller than the two on the outside.
Step 2: Candle tops
At the top of each candle, draw a small rounded bump, like a little cap or a puddle of wax. Close each candle with it.
Step 3: Flames
Above each candle, draw a flame shaped like a teardrop with the pointy end up. Make all four flames about the same size.
Step 4: Wavy wreath edge
Start beside the left candle and draw a bumpy, wavy line that curves out and around the bottom, like a puffy cloud. Add a few short wavy lines between the candles, and finish on the right side, leaving a gap at the bottom.
Step 5: Center oval
Draw a wide, flat oval in the middle of the wreath. This is the hole in the center of the ring.
Step 6: First bow loop
At the bottom of the wreath, draw one small loop on the right side, like half of a bow. Add a short curved tail that swings down and to the left from it.
Step 7: Second bow loop
Draw a matching loop on the left side of the bow so the two loops meet in the middle, like a sideways figure eight.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing an advent wreath
- Draw the four candles first and keep their bottoms lined up, with the two middle ones a bit taller. That makes the wreath look balanced.
- Make all four flames the same teardrop shape. Draw one, then copy its size for the others.
- For the bumpy wreath, think of drawing a cloud and make small, soft bumps. Start next to a candle and go around the bottom, leaving a gap for the bow.

Advent wreath fun fact for kids
Advent wreaths are often used in the four weeks before Christmas. Families light one more candle each week, so by the last week all four candles are glowing.
