Step 1: Top cookie and bite
Draw the top and left side of a long, slightly tilted rectangle, starting low on the left, going up and across to the right. Near the right end, make a little bite with three small wavy bumps that end in a short line going down.
Step 2: Bottom of the top cookie
Draw one long straight line along the bottom of the top cookie. Start it at the bottom of the left side and tilt it the same way as the top, ending under the bite.
Step 3: Rounded ice cream ends
At each end of that line, draw a curve that bulges outward like the end of a sausage. The left curve and the right curve should be about the same size.
Step 4: Wavy bottom edge
Join the two curves at the bottom with a gentle wavy line, like a slow ocean wave. It should run roughly along the top line of the ice cream.
Step 5: The bottom cookie
Under the wavy line, draw the left side, the bottom and the right side of a tilted rectangle with rounded corners. Start the sides at the bottom of the ice cream's curves and join them with a long tilted line.
Step 6: Dots on top
Draw small round dots scattered across the top cookie, in two loose rows. Leave space between them.
Step 7: Dots on bottom
Add a neat row of small dots across the bottom cookie, following its tilt. Make them about the same size as the top ones.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing an ice cream sandwich
- Draw the top cookie slightly tilted. The bottom cookie and the ice cream lines should lean the same way, or the sandwich will look wobbly.
- The rounded ends of the ice cream are the trickiest part. Think of drawing the end of a sausage, and try to make both ends bulge by the same amount.
- For the bite, draw three small bumps in a row instead of one big curve. Bumps make it look like real teeth marks.

How to color your ice cream sandwich drawing
Color the cookies dark brown or chocolate and leave the dots lighter, or use vanilla yellow or pale pink for the ice cream. For a twist, make a rainbow sandwich with strawberry, mint and blueberry ice cream.
