Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Head outline
Draw the left and right sides of a big round head as two curves. Start each one near the top and curve down and inward, stopping before they meet at the bottom, with the top left open for the hat.
Step 3: The sun hat
Draw a long, flat oval across the top of the head for the wide brim. Add a rounded dome on top for the crown, with a curved band across the bottom of the dome.
Step 4: The happy face
Add two small dots for eyes, halfway down the head. Draw a little curved smile between them.
Step 5: Shirt and shorts
Under the head, draw a shirt shaped like a short box with slightly curved sides. Below it, draw a straight line for the shorts' waistband and a wider shape under that for the shorts, with a small notch at the bottom.
Step 6: Sandals
At the bottom of the shorts, draw two wide, flat ovals side by side for the sandals. Add a tiny short line above each one for the leg.
Step 7: Arms and hands
On the left side, draw a short curved arm with a small circle at the end for the hand. On the right side, draw a long, thin curved line stretching out from the shoulder.
Step 8: The ice cream cone
At the end of the right arm, draw a triangle that points down for the cone, with a small round hand at the tip. Add a V of crisscross lines inside it for the waffle pattern.
Step 9: Two ice cream scoops
On top of the cone, draw a round scoop. Stack a second round scoop right above it.
