Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 3 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Big bottom pumpkin
Start with a wide, flat oval at the bottom of your page. Add a curved line on the left and the right side of the oval, like the ridges on a real pumpkin.
Step 3: Middle pumpkin
Draw a slightly smaller oval sitting on top of the big one. Add a curved ridge line on the left and the right side, just like before.
Step 4: Top pumpkin
Draw a small oval on top of the middle pumpkin. It is the smallest of the three, and it has no side ridges.
Step 5: Stem and curl
On top of the little pumpkin, draw a short, narrow stem with a flat top. Then add a small curl at the top that hooks out to the right.
Step 6: Top pumpkin face
Draw two small triangles with rounded corners for eyes and a happy smile underneath. Add one more line down the stem to give it a thickness.
Step 7: Middle pumpkin face
Draw two circles for round eyes. Then add a small oval nose in the middle, below the eyes.
Step 8: Big pumpkin eyes
Draw two small triangles with rounded corners for the eyes of the big pumpkin. Put one on the left and one on the right.
Step 9: The wide grin
Draw a big wide mouth with a flat top and a curved bottom. Add one little pointed tooth hanging down in the middle.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a stack of jack-o'-lanterns
- Draw the bottom pumpkin first and make it wider than you think you need. The two smaller pumpkins have to fit on top of it.
- Let each pumpkin overlap the one below it a little. That makes them look stacked instead of floating.
- For the triangle eyes, draw a regular triangle first and then round off the corners. Keep them small so the faces stay cute.
