Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Head and eye
Start with a medium circle near the top left of your paper for the crow's head. Add a small dot inside it, near the left side, for the eye.
Step 3: The body
Draw a big round oval to the lower right of the head. Start where the head's edge meets it, curve down and around the bottom, then up the right side and back toward the top of the head.
Step 4: The beak
On the left side of the head, draw a pointy, slightly curved triangle sticking out to the left. Make the wide end touch the head and the tip sharp.
Step 5: The wing
Inside the body, draw a curved leaf shape that points toward the head. Make the pointed ends meet at the left and right.
Step 6: The tail
On the right side of the body, draw a long fan shape that slopes down to the right and ends in three little feather points. Start and end the lines on the body's edge.
Step 7: Wing feathers
Draw three short slanted lines inside the wing, near the right end. Make them parallel, like little stripes.
Step 8: The legs
Draw two short straight lines going down from the bottom of the body. Join them with a short line across the middle, and add a tiny foot line at the bottom of each leg.
Step 9: The perch
Below the legs, draw a wide flat oval. Then add two curved lines inside it, bending out like the sides of a barrel.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a crow
- Draw the head circle first, then start the body oval where it meets the head. Your lines will meet in a neat spot.
- The tail is the trickiest part. Draw the long slanted lines first, then add the three feather points one at a time.
- Keep the three wing stripes the same slant so they look like feathers lined up in a row.
