How to draw a roller skate step by step

How to Draw a Roller Skate · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Boot, plate and toe stop

Draw a tall boot that is narrow at the top and wider at the bottom, with a rounded toe curving out to the right. Add a long, flat bar with rounded ends under the boot, then a small circle at the right end of the bar.

  2. Step 2: The cuff line

Near the top of the boot, start at the left edge and draw a short, gently curved line toward the middle. This marks the cuff of the skate.

  3. Step 3: The laces

Just below the cuff on the front of the boot, draw a few short slanted lines that cross each other in an X, joined by a small zigzag. These are the laces.

  4. Step 4: The star

On the side of the boot, near the bottom, draw a small star with five points. Draw it as one simple outline.

  5. Step 5: The axle posts

Under the long bar, draw two short straight lines going down, one near each end. These little posts will hold the wheels.

  6. Step 6: The two wheels

At the bottom of each post, draw a big circle. Make both circles about the same size so the skate can roll.

  7. Step 7: The wheel centers

Draw a smaller circle in the middle of each wheel. This is the hub that the wheel spins around.

  8. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a roller skate

  • Draw the boot in light lines first, wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, so the toe has room to curve out.
  • The wheels are the trickiest part. Trace around a coin or a bottle cap to get two round circles the same size.
  • Keep the star small and low on the boot, away from the laces, so the two do not bump into each other.

Questions about drawing a roller skate

What shapes do I need to draw a roller skate?

You need a tall boot shape, a long rounded bar for the base, a small circle for the toe stop, two big circles for the wheels, two smaller circles for the centers, and a star. Short straight lines make the laces and the wheel posts.

How do I make my roller skate wheels look round?

Trace a coin, a lid, or a cup for each wheel, or draw a light square first and curve the corners into a circle. Draw both wheels the same size so they match.

How do I make my roller skate look cooler?

Color the boot in bright colors, give each wheel its own color, and fill in the star. Small speed lines behind the wheels make it look like it is zooming.
