  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: Head with pointed top

Draw a big round head, but leave a small gap at the bottom for the chin. Pull the top-right part up into a little point, like the tip of a hat.

  3. Step 3: Hat band and fold

Draw a gently curved line across the top of the head, like a headband. Then draw a long slanted line from the band up toward the point to make the hat fold.

  4. Step 4: Pointy ears

On each side of the head, draw a long ear that swoops out and up to a sharp point. Curve the line back to the head to close each ear.

  5. Step 5: Eyes and smile

Add two small dots for eyes in the middle of the face. Draw a small curved smile below them.

  6. Step 6: Body and belt

Under the head, draw a boxy shape with rounded corners for the body. Add a curved belt line across the middle, and finish the bottom with a zigzag edge.

  7. Step 7: Arms and hands

Draw a curved arm on each side of the body. Finish each arm with a small circle for a hand.

  8. Step 8: Legs and feet

Under the zigzag edge, draw two short straight lines for legs. Draw a flat oval at the bottom of each leg for a foot.

  9. Step 9: Wings and sparkles

Behind each shoulder, draw a long, narrow wing that slants out to the side. Then add a few small dots and a tiny diamond sparkle nearby.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a pixie

  • Draw the head first and leave room under it, so the body fits without getting squished.
  • The pointy ears are the trickiest part, so start at the head and flick the line out to a sharp tip, then curve it back.
  • Draw the wings long and narrow, and keep both sides about the same size so your pixie looks balanced.
