Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The round head
Draw a big circle near the top left of your page, but stop a little before it closes at the bottom. Leave a small gap there for the neck.
Step 3: Shirt and resting arm
Under the head, draw a short line across for the collar, then a box shape for the shirt with an open right side. On the left, draw a long thin tilted rectangle for the arm with a rounded hand at the bottom.
Step 4: Eyes and smile
Put two small dots in the middle of the face for eyes. Draw a little curved smile like a bowl underneath them.
Step 5: Two shoes
Below the shirt, draw two flat ovals side by side for the shoes. Let them touch in the middle.
Step 6: The reaching arm
From the right side of the shirt, draw a long, slightly slanted rectangle reaching toward the right. Finish the end with a small circle for the hand.
Step 7: The globe
Draw a big circle on the right so the hand sits on it. Stop the circle's line where it meets the arm so the arm looks like it is in front.
Step 8: Stand and base
Draw a big curved arc around the right side of the globe, like a sideways C. Let it curve down into a short straight post, then draw a flat oval underneath for the base.
Step 9: Land on the Earth
Inside the globe, draw three bumpy blob shapes for the continents. Make one bigger, one medium, and one tiny.
Step 10: Legs and hearts
Draw two straight lines going down from the bottom of the shirt to the shoes for legs. Then draw a small heart on the shirt and another small heart floating above the globe.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid hugging the Earth
- Draw the globe circle lightly, and stop its line where the arm crosses so the hand looks like it is resting on the globe.
- The arm is the trickiest part. Make two straight lines that go the same way, then close the ends with rounded corners.
- Make the globe blobs different sizes so the land looks like real continents, and keep them inside the circle.
