How to draw the Earth step by step

How to Draw the Earth · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The big circle

Start with a big round circle in the middle of your page. This is the whole planet, so take your time and make it nice and round.

  3. Step 3: Left land shape

Near the top left, draw a rounded blob shape that looks like a puffy leaf. Start and end its line on the edge of the circle so it sits against the left side.

  4. Step 4: Right land shape

On the right side, draw a long curvy line that wiggles down like a gentle S. Start it at the top right edge of the circle and end it at the bottom right edge to make a second piece of land.

  5. Step 5: A happy face

Draw two small dots for eyes in the lower middle of the circle. Add a little curved smile between them and below.

  6. Step 6: Twinkly stars

Draw one small star outside the circle at the top right and another at the bottom left. Make each star from five points joined together.

  7. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing the Earth

  • Draw the big circle slowly and lightly first. If it comes out a little squished, no problem, planets are not perfect.
  • Make the land shapes round and bumpy, and let their lines meet the edge of the circle so they look like they wrap around the planet.
  • Keep the stars small and far from the planet, and draw them last so they do not crowd the face.
