How to draw a heart-shaped Earth step by step

How to Draw a Heart-Shaped Earth · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The heart

Draw a big heart shape, with two round bumps at the top that meet in a little dip, and sides that curve down to a soft point at the bottom. Take your time and keep the line smooth.

  3. Step 3: Coastline curve

Inside the heart on the left, start at the left edge and draw a short, gently wavy line that slants down and to the right, then stop partway across.

  4. Step 4: South America

Near the bottom left, draw a bumpy shape like an ice cream cone pointing down. Start at the bottom edge of the heart, go up the left side, curve across the top, then come back down the right side to the bottom edge again.

  5. Step 5: North America

Above South America, start at the end of the first curvy line and draw a wiggly line that bumps out like a little thumb, then climbs up and to the left. Finish with a small hook at the top left.

  6. Step 6: Africa

On the right side, draw a long wavy line across the top that runs to the heart's right edge. Then start below its left end and draw a curvy line that goes down and ends at the bottom right edge of the heart.

  7. Step 7: Islands

Draw little pieces of land near the top: a small hook with a tiny dot near the dip on the left, and a curly hook with a tiny oval on the right.

  8. Step 8: Two round eyes

Draw two big, round, filled-in dots in the middle of the heart for the eyes. Place them side by side with space between them.

  9. Step 9: Smile and cheek

Between the eyes and just below them, draw a happy little w-shaped smile. Add a small dash to the left of the left eye, lower down, for a cheek.

  10. Step 10: Sparkles

Outside the heart at the top right, draw a four-pointed star with curved sides, then a tiny circle below and to the right of it.

  11. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a heart-shaped Earth

  • Draw the heart lightly first so you can fix it. Make both top bumps about the same size, and let the dip in the middle be small and neat.
  • The land shapes are the trickiest part. Let your pencil wander slowly and wiggle, because they do not need to match real maps.
  • Let the land lines touch the heart outline in places, so the continents look like they wrap around the globe.

Questions about drawing a heart-shaped Earth

What shapes do I need to draw a heart-shaped Earth?

You need a heart, a few wavy lines for the land, two round dots for eyes, a small smile, and a small star. That is all.

How do I make my Earth look cuter?

Keep the eyes wide apart, and keep the smile small. Adding a little cheek dash and a sparkle also makes it friendlier.

Do the continents have to look real?

No. Wiggly, simple shapes look great on a cartoon Earth, and a bumpy pointed shape on the lower left will remind everyone of South America.
