Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Body and neck
Draw a big round pear shape for the body, wide and round at the bottom. Add a short, narrow neck going up from the top, like a bottle.
Step 3: The head
On top of the neck, draw a tall rounded oval for the head. Let the bottom of the head sit just over the neck so they connect.
Step 4: Bonnet band
Near the top of the head, draw a gently curved line from one side of the head to the other. This makes the bonnet on her head.
Step 5: The beak
In the middle of the face, draw a small rounded beak shape, like a little rounded loop that is open at the bottom.
Step 6: Eyes and bow
Draw two small round dots above the beak for eyes. Then, where the head meets the neck, draw two little loops that cross in the middle, like a bow tie.
Step 7: Wavy apron edge
Across the middle of the body, draw a wavy line with three or four gentle bumps from the left side to the right side.
Step 8: The book
Near the middle of the body, draw a tall rectangle for a book. Draw a second line inside the left edge to show the cover, and add a tiny short line near the bottom edge of the body.
Step 9: Curved side lines
On the right side, next to the book, draw two tall curved lines for the rolled edge of the pages. Add a tiny short line near the bottom of the body.
Step 10: Little feet
Under the bottom of the body, draw two small rounded feet, one on the left and one on the right.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Mother Goose
- Start with the pear-shaped body and leave a narrow neck on top, so the head has a clear place to sit.
- The wavy line across the belly is the trickiest part, so try drawing it lightly first with bumps of about the same size.
- Draw the book as a simple tall rectangle, then add the curved lines beside it on the right.
