How to Draw a Frog Prince (Easy Step by Step)
A frog prince is a happy frog with a tiny crown, and it is built almost entirely from ovals and circles. You will draw a wide head, round eyes, a little zigzag crown and a lily pad to sit on. It is a friendly drawing where wobbly lines still look great.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The big head
Draw a very wide oval in the middle of your page, like a big squashed egg lying on its side. Leave a gap in the line at the top for the eyes, and leave room above for a crown and below for the body.
Step 3: The round eyes
Draw two round loops sitting on the top corners of the head, one on the left and one on the right. Start each loop at the end of the head line so the eyes look like they are peeking out.
Step 4: Pupils and smile
Add a small solid dot in the middle of each eye. Then draw a wide, gentle smile like a bowl in the middle of the face.
Step 5: The little crown
On top of the head between the eyes, draw a short curved line for the band. Then draw a zigzag with three points above it, and join the sides down to the band.
Step 6: The tummy top
Under the head, draw an upside-down U shape for the top of a round tummy. Center it below the chin and leave the bottom open for now.
Step 7: The arms
On each side of the tummy, draw a tall skinny oval that starts just under the chin. Add a tiny short line from the head to the top of each arm.
Step 8: The feet
At the bottom, draw a wide curved line on each side of the tummy for the feet, bending up at the outer end. Start each one below the arms.
Step 9: The lily pad
Finish by drawing a big flat oval under everything for the lily pad. Close up the feet with curved lines across their tops, and add a curve between them to finish the tummy so the frog sits on the pad.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a frog prince
- Draw the head oval first and make it wide, because everything else tucks in under it and around it.
- The crown zigzag is the trickiest part. Make three points with a pencil first, mark the dips between them, then trace over it.
- Let the feet overlap the lily pad line. It is fine if the lines cross, because it makes the frog look like it is sitting on top.

How to color your frog prince drawing
Use two greens for the frog, a light one for the face and a darker one for the arms and feet, with a golden crown and a bright green lily pad. For a twist, add a pink flower on the lily pad or draw a tiny fly buzzing nearby.
Frog prince fun fact for kids
Frogs use their eyes to help them swallow. When a frog blinks, its eyeballs sink down into its head and push the food down its throat.
Questions about drawing a frog prince
What shapes do I need to draw a frog prince?
You need ovals and circles for almost everything: a wide oval head, round eyes, a round tummy, oval arms and feet. The crown is the only part with straight lines, as a zigzag on a curved band.
How do I make my frog prince look cuter?
Make the head extra wide and keep the eyes big and round with small dots. A big curved smile on a wide face makes the frog look very friendly.
How do I draw a crown that sits on the head?
Draw the curved band so it follows the top of the head, then add the zigzag above it. If the band curves the same way as the head, the crown looks like it is resting on it.
