How to Draw a Prince (Easy Step by Step)
A prince is a great first character because he is built from simple shapes: a big circle for the head, straight lines for the body, and a zigzag crown on top. A sash and a cape make him look royal without any tricky details. Kids can finish him in just a few steps and then make him their own.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The big round head
Draw a large circle for the head, a little wider than it is tall. Leave a small gap at the top for the crown and a small gap at the bottom for the neck.
Step 3: The royal crown
In the gap at the top of the head, draw a short curved band. Add a zigzag with three points above it, then put a tiny dot in the middle of the band for a jewel.
Step 4: Neckline and body sides
Just under the head, draw a wide line across for the neckline, curling down a little at the right end. Then draw two tall straight lines going down from each end of it for the sides of the body.
Step 5: The cape
On the left, draw a curved line down from the shoulder, then a slanted line along the bottom to close the cape. On the right, draw a short line down and a short flat line at the bottom for the other edge of the cape.
Step 6: The sash
Draw two long, slanted lines from the left shoulder down toward the right side of the body. They make a wide stripe across the chest like a royal ribbon.
Step 7: Belt and shoes
Draw two wavy lines across the lower body for the belt. Then draw two short lines for legs and a wide oval shoe under each one.
Step 8: Face, collar and arms
Add two round dots for eyes and a small curvy smile. Then draw puffy shoulders and a collar at the neckline, and two bent arms with round hands. Give the right hand a small stick to hold, and add a few short lines on the belt and shoes.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a prince
- Draw the head circle first and leave a gap at the top. The crown then fits in neatly, and you do not have to squeeze it in.
- The crown zigzag is the trickiest part. Make three dots for the points first, then connect them with straight lines.
- Draw the sash as two slanted lines that run side by side. Keeping them the same distance apart makes the ribbon look even and neat.
