Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head and helmet shape
Draw one big rounded shape for the head, a little narrower at the top like an egg with a gentle dome. Make the bottom wide and round.
Step 3: The helmet band
Draw a wide band across the upper part of the head, using two curved lines that stay close together. Let the ends poke out just past the sides of the head.
Step 4: Eyes and smile
Draw two small round dots for eyes, low on the face and far apart. Draw a small curved smile between them.
Step 5: Body and arms
Under the chin, draw a curved line down on each side for the sides of the body. Join them with a wide U-shaped curve across the middle.
Step 6: Collar and knot
Draw a V shape under the chin for the collar. Add a small blob at the point of the V.
Step 7: Legs
Below the body, draw two short, thick upright shapes side by side with a gap between them. They look like two little posts.
Step 8: Sleeves and pads
Draw a short slanted line on each side of the chest for the sleeves. Then draw a small box with stripes on each side near the bottom for the leg pads, and join them with a flat line along the bottom.
Step 9: Shoes
Draw a flat oval at the bottom of each pad for the shoes. Let each oval sit right under its pad.
Step 10: The wicket stumps
Beside the player, draw three tall, straight lines standing in a row. Add a short bar, called a bail, resting at the top.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.
