How to draw a St. Patrick's Day puppy step by step
How to Draw a St. Patrick's Day Puppy · tinyhandscreate.com
Step 1: Bottom of the head
Near the middle of your page, draw a short, gentle curve that bends like a smile. This is the bottom edge of the puppy's head.
Step 2: Sides of the body
Start under each end of the head curve. Draw one curved line down on the left and one on the right, bulging out a little like the sides of a round tummy. Leave the bottom open for now.
Step 3: Floppy ears
Draw a tall oval on each side, up above the head curve. Let the left oval touch the end of the head curve, and leave a wide space between the two ears for the head.
Step 4: Leprechaun hat
Draw a flat, wide oval between the ears for the hat brim, so it covers the top of the head. Then draw a short rectangle with rounded corners standing on the brim.
Step 5: Hat band and buckle
At the bottom of the tall part of the hat, draw a small square buckle in the middle. Add a short line on each side of it to make the band.
Step 6: Eyes and muzzle
Draw two small dots for the eyes, one on each side of the face. Between and below them, draw a wide oval for the muzzle.
Step 7: Nose, mouth and shamrock
Inside the muzzle, draw a small oval nose with a short line going down and a wavy 'w' shape for the smile. Then, near the right side of the chin, draw a curved stem that ends in a few small linked circles for the shamrock.
Step 8: Last shamrock leaf
Add one more small circle on the right side of the shamrock, touching the other circles to finish the leaves.
Step 9: Feet and tail
At the bottom, draw two flat ovals for the feet and join them with a curved line to close the body. Then draw a curly tail on the right that starts at the body and curls up.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a St. Patrick's Day puppy
- Leave space above the head curve before you start the hat, so the tall hat fits on the page without being squeezed.
- The brim of the hat is a flat oval that sits across the top of the head. Draw it lightly first, then press harder once it looks right.
- For the shamrock, keep the small circles about the same size and let them touch each other so they look like leaves.
