How to draw a St. Patrick's Day gnome step by step

How to Draw a St. Patrick's Day Gnome · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: Rounded body

Draw a U shape with a wide, rounded belly, leaving the top open. Let the bottom pinch into a small point in the middle, like the bottom of a heart.

  3. Step 3: The pointy hat

Start at the top of the left side of the body and curve up and over to a point. Let the tip flick over to the right like a little hook, then come back down to the top of the right side of the body.

  4. Step 4: The hat band

Draw a gently curved line across the bottom of the hat, from the left side of the body to the right side. This closes off the hat.

  5. Step 5: Nose and mustache

Under the hat band, draw a small round nose that hangs down from the band. Below it, draw a wide wavy loop for the mustache, with a puff on the left and a puff on the right.

  6. Step 6: Little shoes

At the bottom, draw two wide ovals for the feet, one on each side of the pinch in the body. They peek out from under the gnome.

  7. Step 7: Hat shamrock

On the hat, draw a small shamrock made of three rounded leaves. Put one leaf on top and one on each side below it, with all three touching in the middle.

  8. Step 8: Belly shamrock leaves

On the belly, draw a small arch for the top leaf. Then draw a curved leaf on the left and one on the right, a little lower, so they begin to form a second shamrock.

  9. Step 9: Finish shamrock and stem

Close up the belly shamrock leaves so they meet in the middle. Then draw a curvy stem from the middle of the shamrock down toward the right foot.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.
