Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The big round head
Draw a big oval near the top left of your page for the head. Leave a small gap at the bottom where the neck will go.
Step 3: Collar and shirt
Under the head, draw a short flat line for the collar. Then draw the bottom and right side of the shirt: a flat line going left to right, with a short line going up at the right end.
Step 4: Arms
Draw two long sausage shapes for the arms. One hangs down on the left side of the shirt, and the other reaches out to the right toward where the house will be.
Step 5: Legs and shoes
Draw two straight lines down from the bottom of the shirt for the legs. Then add a flat oval at the bottom of each leg for a shoe.
Step 6: Face and icing bag
Inside the head, add two small dots for eyes and a curved smile underneath. Then, at the end of the right arm, draw a wide flat-topped icing bag that gets thinner as it goes down to a point.
Step 7: The gingerbread roof
Draw a triangle for the roof to the right of the kid. Along its bottom edge, draw a row of little bumps like icing, and add three dots inside as candy.
Step 8: House walls
Draw one straight line down from each end of the roof's bottom edge. These are the walls of the house.
Step 9: Window and door
Between the walls, draw a small circle for the window. Next to it, draw an upside-down U shape for the door.
Step 10: The table
Draw a long rounded rectangle across the bottom of the house for the tabletop. Add two short straight legs hanging down from it.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid with a gingerbread house
- Draw the head first and leave room on the right, so the arm and the house both fit on your page.
- The icing bag is the trickiest part. Start wide at the top near the hand and slowly bring the two sides together to a point.
- For the bumpy icing along the roof, draw small half circles in a row, all about the same size.
