How to draw a kid with a reindeer step by step

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 3 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: Hat and head

Start with a big round dome for the hat and a small circle on top for the pom-pom. Draw a curvy band across the bottom of the hat, then draw two curved lines down from the band to make the sides of a round face.

  3. Step 3: Collar and coat

Draw a short curved line under the face for the collar. Below it, draw a box shape for the coat, with a straight line down the middle for the zipper.

  4. Step 4: Face, scarf and arms

Add two dots for eyes and a little curved smile. Draw a scarf around the neck with a tail that swings out to the right. Then draw a short arm on the left side with a small curl for the mitten, and a long arm reaching up and out to the right.

  5. Step 5: Boots

At the bottom of the coat, draw two short lines for legs. Then add two flat ovals side by side for the boots.

  6. Step 6: Reindeer body

Next to the kid, draw a wide, squashed oval for the reindeer's round tummy. Add two small rounded feet underneath and a tiny loop at the top for the collar.

  7. Step 7: Reindeer head

Draw a circle for the head sitting on top of the body. Add a small curved ear on the right side.

  8. Step 8: Antlers, eyes and mitten

Draw two straight lines going up from the top of the head, with a short branch on each so they look like forks. Add two dots for the reindeer's eyes. Then draw a small circle at the end of the kid's long arm for the mitten.

  9. Step 9: Reindeer nose

In the lower middle of the reindeer's face, draw a small round circle for the nose.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid with a reindeer

  • Draw the hat and face as one big shape first, then add the band so it curves the same way as the head.
  • The long arm is the trickiest part, so draw it as two gently curved lines reaching up and out, and add the mitten circle at the tip last.
  • Make the reindeer's antlers start as two straight lines, then add the little side branches so they stay even.
