Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Curly hair
Near the top of the page, draw a puffy, bumpy cloud-shaped line for the curly hair. Start at the lower left, go up and over the top in round bumps, and end at the lower right.
Step 3: Cloud seat and back
Draw a wide, puffy cloud at the bottom with round bumps underneath. Then draw a long wavy line from the right side of the cloud up toward the head for Zeus's back.
Step 4: Shoulders and sash
Draw a short line down from the left of the head for the shoulder, then add a curved sash that sweeps across the chest. Finish the right shoulder with a small curl near the neck.
Step 5: Fringe and beard
Draw a wavy line across the top of the face for the hair fringe. Then draw a bumpy, scalloped beard hanging below the face.
Step 6: Face, ear and hand
Draw two round dots for eyes and a little smile. Add a small curved ear on the left side of the head and a tiny squiggle beside it for the fingers of a raised hand.
Step 7: The raised arm
Draw one long curved line from the little hand down to the shoulder. This makes the arm that reaches up and out.
Step 8: Bent leg and foot
Near the bottom of the robe, draw a rounded leg shape that rests on the cloud. Add a small round foot at its end and a flat line along the bottom of the lap.
Step 9: The lightning bolt
Above the raised hand, draw a zigzag lightning bolt. Start with a slanted shape at the top, add a sharp step in the middle, and finish with a point at the bottom touching the hand.
Step 10: Hand at his side
On the right side of the robe, draw a small rounded hand resting on his lap. Add a short curved line under it for the wrist.
