How to Draw a Mom (Easy Step by Step)
This mom is built from simple shapes: a round head, a thick band of hair, a boxy shirt and a skirt shaped like a soft triangle. She waves with one hand and carries a little bag on the other side. It is a great drawing for practicing circles, ovals and curved lines.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Side of the face
Draw a short curved line on the right, up and away from the guide oval. It is the start of the round face, so keep it gentle, like the edge of a ball.
Step 3: Hair band and side hair
Draw a big curved arch over the top, like a rainbow, and a second arch just inside it so the hair looks like a thick band. Let the hair hang down on both sides, with a small loop at the bottom on the right.
Step 4: Bangs and chin
Under the inner arch, draw a wavy bangs shape with a point in the middle and a small curl at each end. Then draw a curved line down the left side of the face to finish the round head.
Step 5: The shirt
Under the chin, draw a short line across for the shoulders. Draw a rounded box below it for her shirt, with a curved line across the bottom for the belt.
Step 6: Skirt and shoes
Draw a skirt that gets wider toward the bottom, like a gentle triangle with a flat hem. Then add two flat ovals at the bottom for her shoes.
Step 7: Arms and hand
On the left, draw a long oval for the arm waving up beside the head, with a small circle at the top for the hand. On the right, draw a curved line for the arm hanging down beside the shirt.
Step 8: Face, heart and bag
Add two small dots for eyes and a little curved smile. Draw a small curve at the neck and a tiny heart on the shirt. Then draw a rounded box for the bag at the right, with a small loop handle that reaches up to her hand.
Step 9: Shirt straps
Draw two straight lines from the top of the shirt down to the belt, one on each side of the heart, for the straps.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a mom
- Draw the hair arches first and keep them light. The bangs and the face line are easier to place when the arches are already there.
- The waving arm is the trickiest part. Draw the long oval first, then add the small circle for the hand at its top end.
- Draw the two shoes as flat ovals that nearly touch each other. Putting them side by side under the skirt makes her look steady.
