How to Draw a King (Easy Step by Step)
This little king is built from friendly shapes: a round head, a cloud-shaped beard, a zigzag crown, a bell-shaped robe, and two ovals for feet. It is a fun first character to draw because every part is simple. Kids can make it their own with a different crown or a silly scepter.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Sides of the head
Draw two curved lines near the top of your page, like the left and right sides of a big round head. Leave the top and the bottom open, because the crown and the beard will fill them in.
Step 3: The fluffy beard
Draw a wavy line straight across the lower part of the head, joining the bottom ends of the two side curves. Then curve down from each end and join them with a bumpy, cloud-like line along the bottom.
Step 4: The crown
On top of the head, draw a long, slightly curved line for the crown band. Draw a zigzag with three points above it, then add a small ring in the middle of the band as a jewel.
Step 5: Eyes and smile
Add two small round dots for eyes, spaced wide apart on the head. Draw a little curved smile in the middle of the beard.
Step 6: The royal robe
Under the beard, draw two lines that slant slightly outward, like a bell. Close the bottom with a wavy line.
Step 7: Two oval feet
Draw two wide ovals at the bottom, one under each side of the robe. Leave a little gap between them.
Step 8: Arms, buttons and scepter
Draw a short curved arm on each side of the robe, with a little circle at the end of the left arm for a hand. Add a row of four small dots on the robe for buttons. Then draw a tall straight line on the right side with a curly ring at the top and a small circle where the right hand holds it.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a king
- Draw the crown after the head sides, so the band sits neatly across the top of the head.
- Make the beard with soft bumps along the bottom. Think of drawing three small clouds in a row.
- Keep the scepter line tall and straight. Draw it lightly first, then trace over it once it looks right.
