How to Draw a Seesaw (Easy Step by Step)
A seesaw is a fun drawing because it is built from simple shapes: a long bar, a triangle, and a couple of friends sitting on top. This one has a teddy bear on one end and a little bird on the other. If you can draw circles, ovals, and a triangle, you can draw this.

Step 1: Bear head and body
Start with a curved line for the left side of the bear's head, and add two small dots for eyes. Below the head, draw a curvy line for the round tummy and two little curled feet at the bottom.
Step 2: Bear ears
Draw a small round ear on each side of the top of the head. Then draw the rest of the head's outline so it joins the ears and closes around the eyes.
Step 3: The long plank
Draw a long, slanted bar that goes up to the right, starting under the bear's feet. Draw the top line and the bottom line, then close both ends with rounded corners.
Step 4: The triangle stand
Under the middle of the plank, draw a big triangle with rounded corners. The top point should touch the plank.
Step 5: The two handles
Draw two upside-down U shapes standing on the plank, one in front of the bear and one farther to the right. Each one is a handle to hold on to.
Step 6: Bird head and back
On the right end of the plank, draw one curvy line that makes a round head and a bumpy back. It ends where the bird sits on the plank.
Step 7: Bird details
Add a pointy beak on the right of the head, a small dot for the eye, and a curved wing on the body. Finish with a short curved line on the left side for the tail.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a seesaw
- Draw the plank as a slanted bar with two lines side by side, so both lines stay parallel and the bar keeps an even width.
- The triangle stand is easier if you start at the top point, where it touches the plank, and draw two lines that spread apart evenly, then join the bottom with a flat line.
- Draw the bear's head and tummy first, so the feet land on the plank and the bear does not float or sink into it.

Try a brown bear, a yellow or blue bird, and a bright red or green plank. For a creative twist, give the bear a colorful scarf or turn the bird into a rainbow parrot.
Seesaw fun fact for kids
A seesaw is a kind of lever. The point in the middle that it balances on is called the fulcrum.
